Shoring Works

DAT Foundations General Contracting LLC – OPC specializes in providing comprehensive shoring solutions to support excavations, retain soil, and ensure safety during construction activities. Our expertise in various shoring techniques, including sheet pile shoring, secant pile shoring, and H/I-beam shoring, combined with advanced equipment and experienced personnel, enables us to deliver efficient, cost-effective, and reliable solutions for diverse project requirements. Here’s a detailed overview of our shoring capabilities:

Sheet Pile Shoring

Sheet pile shoring is a widely used technique for temporary or permanent earth retention in construction projects. DAT Foundations utilizes steel sheet piles, typically made of steel or vinyl, to create continuous barriers along excavation perimeters. Sheet piles are driven into the ground using vibratory or impact hammers, forming a watertight wall that supports adjacent soil and prevents collapse. Sheet pile shoring is suitable for various soil conditions and excavation depths and is commonly used in urban areas, waterfront structures, and underground construction projects.

H/I Beam Shoring

H/I-beam shoring, also known as soldier pile and lagging, involves the installation of vertical steel beams (soldier piles) at regular intervals along the excavation perimeter, with horizontal timber or steel lagging placed between the beams to retain soil. DAT Foundations utilizes H-beams, I-beams, or wide-flange beams as soldier piles, driven into the ground using vibratory or impact methods. H/I-beam shoring is versatile, cost-effective, and suitable for shallow to moderate-depth excavations in cohesive and granular soils.

Secant Pile Shoring

Secant pile shoring, also known as interlocking pile walls, involves the construction of overlapping concrete piles to create a continuous retaining wall. DAT Foundations installs primary (female) and secondary (male) piles in alternating sequence, allowing them to interlock and form a structural barrier against soil and groundwater ingress. Secant pile walls offer superior structural integrity and water resistance compared to sheet pile walls and are suitable for deep excavations, basements, and underground structures where watertightness and stability are critical.
