Ground Improvement Works

DAT Foundations General Contracting LLC – OPC specializes in providing innovative and effective ground improvement solutions to enhance soil properties, increase bearing capacity, and mitigate settlement risks for various construction projects. Our expertise in ground improvement techniques, including rigid inclusion, stone column installation, vibro-compaction, rapid impact/dynamic compaction, and dynamic compaction /replacement, combined with advanced equipment and experienced personnel, enables us to deliver reliable and cost-effective solutions tailored to meet specific project requirements. Here’s a detailed overview of our ground improvement capabilities:

Rigid Inclusion

Rigid inclusion, also known as rigid inclusions or stone columns, involves the installation of stiff elements, such as concrete or grout columns, into weak or compressible soils to improve load-bearing capacity and reduce settlement. DAT Foundations utilizes specialized equipment to install rigid inclusions at predetermined spacing and depths, providing vertical support and increasing soil stiffness. Rigid inclusions are suitable for a wide range of soil conditions and foundation applications, including embankments, roadways, and industrial facilities.

Vibro Compaction

Vibro compaction, also known as vibro-flotation, is a ground improvement method that utilizes vibratory probes to densify loose or granular soils through dynamic compaction and rearrangement of soil particles. DAT Foundations utilizes high-frequency vibrations to improve soil density, increase shear strength, and reduce settlement potential. Vibro compaction is commonly used to improve the load-bearing capacity of foundation soils for embankments, storage yards, and industrial facilities.

Dynamic Compaction

Dynamic compaction/replacement is a ground improvement technique that combines dynamic compaction with the replacement of weak or compressible soils with granular fill materials. DAT Foundations utilizes heavy tamping or dynamic compaction equipment to compact the existing soil layers, followed by the placement of select fill materials to enhance soil properties and increase bearing capacity. Dynamic compaction/replacement is effective in stabilizing loose or compressible soils for embankments, foundations, and infrastructure projects.

Rapid Dynamic Compaction

Rapid impact or dynamic compaction involves the use of heavy machinery, such as drop weights or dynamic compactors, to impart repeated impacts on the ground surface, densifying loose soils and reducing settlement. DAT Foundations employs specialized equipment and experienced operators to perform rapid impact compaction, effectively increasing soil density and shear strength. Rapid impact compaction is suitable for large areas with shallow soil improvement requirements, such as landfills, highways, and airport runways.
